What is the Distinction between Human Learning and Human Evolving… and how is Mobile Learning technology involved

Evolution is quite distinctive from learning.  I have tossed and turned around the intersection of these spaces since graduate school Neuropsychology days at Stanford (Dr. Karl H. Pribram-advisor)… since 1984. The difference or distinction applies to a human awareness of our YOUnique “Self.”

The mobile space folds hu-connection. The folding of productive or operational space/time (e.g. productivity/time migration: smoke signals-2-letters-2-FedEx-2-encrypted/signature email-2-IM/Skype-2-MobileSkype) is also a byproduct of tech advances.

To learning-to-evolve is quite a bit different than to evolving-to-learn.  Meta-learning for example concerns the necessary cognitive abilities to make learning happen with intention, habitually, and to also, one hopes but not necessarily, to learn how we learn as unique learning and evolving human beings.   This is where the migration to learning-to-evolve as individuals and (ever greater potentialities of) synergistic systems of individuals begins.

Hu-Evolution, in my nutshell, starts with our natural genetic dispositions which are innate and distinctive for each and every one of us… this being the developmental foundation for what makes us “special” (our Purpose (and our core “learning” direction in life) is and should be based on our unique-ness) and therein how we can become more and more innately complete and therein more coherently (progressive potentiations of greater hu-synergy/time) synergistic with others.

We can only hope that all of our learning experiences move us in the direction of evolving our uniqueness as individuals; and from this movement do the same within and throughout global systems of individuals, e.g. teams, couples, families, companies, cultures.  Our life environments both trigger and nurture these innate and unique personal dispositions, or not, and to varying degrees between.

Mobile Learning can support Mobile-Personal Evolution only if it focused on applications that provide insight and support integrated cognitive, visceral and behavioral action in this regard. I am not sure you have noticed but there is a great and tangible yearning in the world right now for personal sense of what one might term a “true-self” – as one’s uniqueness seen and felt more clearly and coherently; and from this, a personal sense of meaning and purpose based on this fundamental foundation of the person.  (Oh, and this has nothing to do with our “character development” curriculum or much touted “self-esteem” thinking…  This is new territory).

I called this The Great Yearning.  You have all seen the explosion of quick (superficial) and “fun” self-evaluation quizzes.  For example: “What kind of drink are you?”, “What kind of Asian are you?” (I kid you not),”What kind of Soul are You?” (http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofsoulareyouquiz/), etc, etc.  This is a real indication of, and reaching-out for , “a  learning” that the market of human beings is screaming for help with.

More than ever before (at least now quantifiably manifest within the soc-net app space) the question of genuine-ness, and by natural extension, a more genuine quality in human-connectivity is being spoken of, both directly and indirectly.  Learning what makes us for a “genuine” human being  is no different than learning, and then living (daily), the who, what and why of each of us… what makes us YOUnique as individuals and by default, what we are here to do with our lives.

Mobile-Learning can be the platform for insights concerning personal evolution and natural gift-centric  and innate dispositional-centric assessment over time, day-by-day and these are mobile apps (as a suite) I am currently working on.

Without knowing who and what and why we are (with the how, when/where and so-what part of the question-matrix) … we unfortunately “learn” (mobile or otherwise) without the conscious, guiding foundation of our innate Self, and we tend to be learning and acquiring knowledge through material/symbolic (vs. significant or naturally-driven) motivations, and as a universal (almost) consequence evolve without intention or design, i.e. market and external driven learning motivations.

This has not been “crossed” this road yet, it is directly before us. It is the next frontier. Welcome to the Evolution-Revolution, or what my students chunked, and called, “The EvoReVo!”

The Design (Purpose) of The Internet?

“I live’n’breathe the “how”, “why” and “so what” of the “design/purpose” of Internet as it relates to individual human and human systems (social) development, seen as an evolutionary process.

And specifically, I am most thoroughly sustained by considering and working on answers to the how, why and so-what of the Internet’s dynamic, direct and NATURAL role in supporting the how, why and so-what of individual human evolution and in parallel humanities synergistic evolution.

The most obvious reflection of the human mind is seen in our internet movement as it is most obviously reflective of both the connectivity nature of the human brain and the manifestion of that brain in the evolution of our personal Self and further in the evolution of the connectivity of personal Self’s globally.

My work and writing speaks to essential and magical pragmatism (Yes, pragmatics can be magical, ask Williams James) of the “why” of the internet” as a function of an innate and unstoppable, although seemingly detour prone, process of individual, innate and gift-based human evolution… and whole human-systems gift-based or gift-centric social evolution, and more specifically, the evolution of 1) an individual and naturally disposed and gifted human mind, and 2) all of these human minds doing that same thing.

… and a “why the internet exists” design/purpose founded on the innate NEED of all these evolving and inherently gift-driven-at-the-core human minds finding fuller and better and more synergy-rich “connecting” along the way.

My innately disposed preference is to think of the internet as simply a mind-mirror and interactive functional projection and manifestation thereof, the human mind. And over time, guess what, it actually looks more and more like a human cortex, this felt-work of connective tissue, of fibrils, like glial cells and dendridic networks, enmeshed and encapsulating directly, and indirectly and over time, all minds on the planet. And these minds “connected” – consciously, most not – are trying really, really hard – as it is what they are designed to do… is their ultimate and pre-ordained purpose – to be all they can be… to be innately and naturally gift-driven and along the way, trying very, very hard to more effectively resonate (socnet) and connect (socnet) to optimizing “partners” along the way, and over generations of our humanity.

It is this fundamental process and direction of human evolving that feeds the evolution of da’Net itSelf, and reciprocally, the further evolution of the natural and innately disposed and gifted human Self.

Nice that the internet helps in all this, and was mirror-designed in fact, for that express purpose, whether we see it as such or not, i.e. it’s purpose within and without and pertaining to the unfolding unknown.

The Recognition, Passion, Value and Objectives of the Effort: We will be the 1st team/org/work group to represent and correlate and create new value and new global conversation around the nature and patterns of our human insights, and not just the big ones, the Eureka’s, but all insights, the whole spectrum, from small to huge and all those in between. Other inter-development objectives include:
1) Making the behavior/act of inputting our insights as ah-ha’s “socially cool.” (Oprah and guests Aha! moments)
2) Must be easy and fun to do.
3) Gathering, mashing and mining the data, and data patterns, and discovering “Meta-Insights” and “Meta-Ah-Ha’s” in personal/individual cloud and the interconnected social cloud(s).
4) Delivering distributed and juicy fun chunks of insights about our own insights and about others is a key task… and seeing this in our mobile & various socnet spaces.
5) Connecting people in “event-time” globally and based on correlated symmetries between and “around” their individual insights.
6) Visually represent the data and patterns of insight as data streams in value rich and meaningful ways.
7) Connecting this dynamic 4D data matrix to other db’s both current and emerging that are and will be representing other flavors of human activity such as, personal geo-spatial info, internet content focus behavior patterns, content distribution patterns, email content patterns, people interface patterns… and of course, the individuals stated preferences.

The key is create a new and intrinsically real and more genuine domain of conversation among people, one that has new and deeper and fuller value to individuals as YOUnique human beings… and ultimately the planet itself.  This is all about having insights … about our ah-ha moments… and then as a natural consequence about discovering and living a progressively more natural, innate, genuine and truer Self or TruSelf.

Ultimately it will be about making the idea and the reality of being a more consciously YOUnique and therein genuine individual a cooler and cooler way of living in your life.

3) It has to be this kind of cool but it also has to last… to have long legs.
4) It has to be Easy to Understand & Easy to Do. EtU-EtD.
5) Oh, and it has to make a massive amount of money sooner than later.

The Righter Kinda’ Everything

Hey Everybody

The next huge game-shifting move must be about helping people come to see, and then begin to effectively live, their innate and natural gifts and dispositions – their YOUNique-ness.

I see this as the most natural next step in the evolution of our media technologies, our connectivity tech, our social networking movements, our business productivity expectations, and our personal and social movements towards fuller and heightened awarenesses and consciousness.

Pretty soon making a righter kind of money, and living a righter kind of life, and being with a righter kind of people is going to go all consumer on us and this is the moment when measuring and tracking and illustrating and correlating gift-centric human “learning and evolving” metrics will come to roost.

We are all unique for a reason (…and as related to mind-centric Tech evolution)

This is simply why I believe technologies and in particular any form of tech related to human connection (…and learning, performance, development, measurement) are developing the way they are… and if this is in fact the case, it would be good for those of us involved in the development of technology to be made aware of this underlying motivation and affect over time of the human mind upon society and specifically on technology creation.

The really interesting question is why would the mind (as a productive system of already semi connected human minds) want to manifest more and more of it’s features and functionality, and to whatever degree possible, architecture, into our physical, technological systems world.

The motivation IMO has always been obvious.  Minds want to find and produce great work with other minds. Why? Because when two or more minds connect to do some form of work or produce some form of output and each has talents and dispositions that complement the whole of the group, then great work is produced.  It is very simple.  Oh, and they have a blast (fun) doing it. It is the uniquely complementary mix of unique minds that generate the greatest output and fun. What human being, in their right mind, wouldn’t want more and more of this in their lives?

Ask any mind what it really wants, beyond some level of operating comfort. All minds want this synergy experience.  We as unique human beings are drawn to it because our uniquely disposed minds crave it.  Not just connection but powerful connections, which by default generate synergy.

 We are all unique for a reason.  It is what makes us unique that makes our combinations between others unique and potently and productivity powerful.  So uniqueness has a reason too… You have to be unique to have synergy

Mind-based technological evolution is here to make human synergy occur as a habit. To the point, sometime in the future it will be our life-habit as a society, and that to be “in-synergy” at work or in life is considered the moral norm.  In counterpoint then, to not be “in-synergy” at this future social point would be the equivalent of throwing garbage out the window of your plasma car.  Which by then, I am sure, would be a jail-able offense.
